Well, since I last posted, we were blessed to have another addition to the family. Isaac Spurgeon Boudreau was born on February 3rd at 1:15am, clocking in at 8 lbs, 10 oz and 21 inches long. It was also the fastest labor to date - a bit over 8 hours - yet every time I say that, Sofia is quick to clarify that it wasn't easy. That's fair - I couldn't do it for more than 2 waves - no way.
Isaac is named first after Abraham's child of promise in scripture. Since it's our primary desire that Isaac be saved (and thus, a true child of Abraham), we thought the name fitting. Secondly, he's named after one of my favorite hymn writers Isaac Watts, who wrote "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," "Alas and did my Savior Bleed?" and "Joy to the World." He was a pastor and lived in the end of the 1600's and early 1700's. For a the only bio I have found on Isaac Watt's, here is a two part lecture on him (scroll down the page): http://www.monergism.com/directory/link_category/History-of-Christianity/Audio-and-Multimedia/Nick-Needham/
Then the middle name Spurgeon is obviously (to most reading this) after the prince of preachers Charles Haddon Spurgeon, who preached in Britain in the latter half of the 1800's. For a good bio on Spurgeon, listen to John Piper break down his life, though from a more pastoral perspective, as he was giving this at a pastor's conference: http://www.monergism.com/directory/search.php?action=search_links_simple&search_kind=and&phrase=charles+spurgeon+piper&B1.x=0&B1.y=0
We are experiencing the manifold blessings of a Fatherly Shepherd who cares for us. It has been tough, but God has been gracious to sustain, stengthen, help, remind, love - He is the fountain from whom all blessings flow.
In Jesus,
The Boudreau's
PS: Pic's to follow. I need Sofia for that!

.....what parenting means for a blogging Career
A casual glance at our blog page for the past 386 days would lead you to believe that the Boudreau's either really cherish Ben's 5th birthday or we have no time to blog! Yep, you guessed it - no time to blog! Hopefully this update will be the renewal of a steady output of what's going on in our lives. But, then again, our baby boy is due Sunday. Let's see how long this lasts.....
First off, we are in Christ and blessed. "He did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all. How will He not with Him graciously give us all things?" Rom 8:32
Sofia is pregnant with our 4th. We are thinking of naming him Aaron Spurgeon. Sofia is convinced that by seeing his face, she will be able to tell if the name fits. My only objection is that their face is swollen for days after coming through the play-do fun factory of life. She is very very ready for this baby to come out. Sofia is also doing a heroic wonderful job of homeschooling Benjamin and to a point, Ella.
I'm still working at the worker's comp insurance company I've been at for 8 1/2 years.
I'm leading music at our church Pacific Hope (pacifichope.com). I love being a husband and a dad, though it is the hardest thing I've ever done. By God's grace, I am what I am.
Ben is 6 now. He is professing faith in Christ, in ways that are noticeably different than if he were just copying our faith. We will be praying for wisdom regarding baptism for him. Please pray with us. He just began Calvinist Cadets - a Christian, boy scout-like, weekly meeting. It's great for him as he needs to learn interaction with other kids, centered on Christ.
Ella is 4 now. She is also professing faith in Christ. She has the memory of a hawk!! She memorized like the first 45 catechism questions and answers of the children's catechism, which is based of the Westminster shorter cathecism. She's sharp. God has blessed her with that. may he grow her in His Son.
Joshie is 2 now. He is the busyest wirlwind of a child we've had to date. BUUSSSY. The other night he was up till 2am. He can repel out of his crib with ease - he's been doing that for about 8 months. Ya - you wake up and he's just right there -staring at you. Creeped us out at first, now it's normal and we anticipate it instinctively. He is being taught the gospel and knows that Jesus died for our sins.
Anyway, that's us in a nutshell. If you think about us, please pray for us as we rely upon His grace in everything, at least, we want to.
Love to all,
The Boudreaus

Tamale Sunday
We have a tradition in our family that goes back many many years. We always make tamales the sunday before christmas and usually make about 20-30 dozen. We have used the same masa and chili recipe for at least 30 years. Ben and Ella are old pros now but it was so exciting to see Joshie get in on the action for the first time with all of hi aunts, uncles, cousins and grandma's. We made beef, green chili and cheese and sweet tamales. Mmmmm!

All fresh ingredients in Chunky, Mango and her signature Dry Roasted. Her signature Dry Roasted won. Her prayer is to get a kitchen and sell it in major grocery stores or Costco. Here are a few pics of the day with her sioux chef (nephew justin).
